A Little Bit About Us

We are the Corontzes Family and have loved living and working in South Carolina our entire lives, beginning at our grandparent’s infamous Capitol Café in downtown Columbia right smack in front of the state house. It was a 24-hour a day diner where we all held down our first jobs as young teens. Then, one by one, all came to Clemson University as freshmen ranging from the years of 1972 to 1988. Four of the five brothers who came here for school, Nick, Zach, George, and Ted are still here working, and raising our families. This is why our new venture, Rudy’s on Ram Cat, seemed a perfect fit for us right now. While we are still heavily involved in the daily operation of the restaurants along with our wives, sons, daughters, nieces and nephews, several of them have shown lots of interest and skill in carrying on the tradition. There are Clemson University and Culinary School graduates among this next generation, but they felt such a strong tie to this area and our businesses that they sought careers right here and now.

With these vitals in place along with the fact that we fell in love with the feeling of Ram Cat Alley and all of Historic Downtown Seneca, it was our chance to offer locals and visitors a place to relax with some great food, drink and fun at the end of the day, for a special occasion, or just a week night out in a warm and welcoming atmosphere.

We proudly opened our doors on October 21, 2008 with the younger Corontzes’s hard at work making sure everything went to the best of our ability. We hope you sense the celebratory feeling that Rudy’s on Ram Cat represents for us.
